This week's beauty tips are my top 8 favorite beauty products for your skin and hair that will probably surprise you.

8. Tea Tree Oil

  • Tea Tree Oil is extracted from a Tea Tree plant in Australia. It is fairly inexpensive and has tons of rewards. It helps heal and disinfect cuts, burns, and infections. It has also proven to be helpful in the healing of acne and scarring. It is a dry oil so it absorbs quickly and doesn't leave your skin oily and greasy feeling.
7.  Coconut Oil
  • Get rid of those expensive deep conditioners, eye lotions, and age creams ladies! This stuff is amazing. Put a quarter size amount in your hair and wrap it in an old t-shirt while you sleep. Rinse out with cool water in the morning and Voila your hair will be silky smooth and wonderfully hydrated. OR another fantastic use of this stuff is around your eyes. Wash your face as normal an hour or so before going to bed and pat this stuff on around your eyes where dark circle appear. Let it dry and then wash off in the morning.
6. Argan Oil
  • I'm new to using this stuff and I'm so glad I picked some up. This is especially magnificent if your hair tends to dry out or if you're blonde like me and often get sun damage. Apply to towel dry hair and wrap in an old t-shirt overnight much like the coconut oil. WASH IN COOL WATER. If you wash it out with warm water you are stripping the oil right off your hair. When using cool water it rinses off the excess. Apply to your face overnight or put a couple small drops into your foundation for a dewy natural look. Apply to flaking finger nails and you will have strong wonderful nails. This is another dry oil that will absorb and not leave you feeling greasy and gross.
5. Honey
  • Those little guys with stingers make some potent sugary gold. They literally make liquid gold.  Honey has been proven effective when used as a moisturizing mask, pore minimizer, scar fader, and acne treatment as well as many other things when mixed with other things (you find out more below).
4. Nutmeg
  • Nutmeg is very effective when mixed with honey as a scar fader.
3. Cinnamon
  • Cinnamon when mixed with honey and nutmeg is a great overnight mask. Put it on a couple hours before bed so that it begins to dry and your skin will look fresh and young. Also very good for prevention against wrinkles. Mix 1 tbsp honey with 1 tsp each Cinnamon and Nutmeg.
2. Brown Sugar
  • Brown sugar is a great exfoliant when mixed with a liquid. You can also use white sugar but it requires more sugar. Orange juice, grapefruit juice, and honey are pretty good. Make sure you don't mix in too much liquid. It is always best to add liquid first and then the sugar.
1. Vaseline
  • This is a new one to me and I love it. Dry elbows? Dry feet? Chapped Lips? Apply a little vaseline to these places overnight. Make sure to wear a long sleeve or socks for elbows and feet.
Hope you enjoy these and I'll have a new post next week! If you have any questions about specific Argan oils or recipes I use let me know!
